Dominating 4xMile Performance
In what head coach Steve McChesney considers the greatest distance team ever in New England, Newton South destroyed the MR and the All-Division record with a time of 20:28.14 in the Division 1 meet. The foursome was comprised of Kelsey Karys, Kathy O'Keefe, Melanie Fineman and Bridget Dahlberg. All four members were sub five-minute milers and all four were just a month and a half removed from winning the event at Nike Indoor Nationals where it set a New England record of 20:25.90. The quartet would also win another national title at New Balance Nationals in the spring where it ran 20:23.20. By the way, the old records at the Relays were 21:07.08 (MR) and 20:57.73 (All-Division).
