Girls' High Jump
It's not often you have two athletes in the field that have cleared 5 feet, 9 inches, but we will this Saturday with defending champion Zoe Dainton of Hingham and Nyagoa Bayak of Westbrook (ME). Dainton achieved the mark this past weekend at the All State Championship. Nyagoa did it on Jan. 6 to win the Dartmouth Relays. While there are a handful of athletes that have done 5-6 this season, we expect this one to come down to Dainton and Nyagoa. The meet record of 5-10 by Heather Francis, formerly of Dartmouth (MA), has stood for 14 years! Could it be matched or possibly broken this weekend? We're not ruling it out.
