Beginning next week, MileSplit MA will be highlighting some of our top returning indoor track and field athletes with our Athletes To Watch series. Trust us, we have a plethora of high-level athletes that should not only make some noise at the state level but at the regional and national level, too. Who are some of these athletes? In the sprints (and jumps), there's Milton's Smith Charles. Charles , who is still only a junior, is the reigning long jump and 55-meter state titlists. There's also Natick's Grace Connolly, who this past fall won her eighth individual state crown with her win at the All State X-C Finals. Connolly was the mile and two-mile state champion last year and then earned All-American status by placing sixth in the mile at the New Balance Nationals. In the girls' high jump we have last year's 1-2 finishers, Hingham's Zoe Dainton and Wellesley's Julia Jordahl-Henry returning. We'll feature these athletes and more in the coming weeks.
