What Happened In 2016?

With the fastest time of the day, Saint John's Ben Kovac won the Division 1 race in 15 minutes, 20.11 seconds. Kovac's held off Brookline's Lucas Aramburu, who took second in 15:24.10. In the team competition, Wellesley defeated second-place Saint John's, 47-68. Hopedale's Brandon Hall captured the Division 2 title in another close affair. Hall edged Wakefield Memorial's Matt Greatorex with his time of 15:55.70. Greatorex crossed the line at 15:57.97. Teamwise, Hopedale and Wakefield each scored 69 points with Hopedale winning based on the finish of its sixth man. Newton South's Clare Martin was a runaway victor in the girls' Div. 1 race where she broke the tape in 17:45.50. Hopkinton beat Walpole, 123-143, for team honors. Milton's Bridget Mitchell and Collette O'Leary went 1-2 in the Div. 2 race with Mitchell clocking 18:06.33 to O'Leary's 18:29.44 effort. Milton easily claimed the team award with just 29 points. Tyngsborough was a distant second with 132 points.
