Eastern Massachusetts Boys' Division 4
The new alignment continues to change things around this fall and it's not any different in this division where newcomer Newburyport appears to be among the contenders for the team title. The Clippers, who captured the Div. 5 crown last year, have just three varsity members returning from 2016-17, but seem to have enough firepower to contend with the best this fall. Junior Sam Acquaviva and junior Jack Reeves and senior Hoover Parker are a few strong returnees for Newburyport. Led by junior Brian Brooks and senior Jacob Pearl, Nauset Regional looks to be a contender, too.
Brooks, who was 13th at the All State Final and fourth at the Eastern State Championships, and Acquaviva, a 4:33 miler and fourth-place finisher at the All States, appear to be co-favorites for individual honors.
