Western Massachusetts Division 2 Boys
This is a division that has been dominated by Mount Greylock since 2010 and there's a good chance that dominance with continue this fall. The Mounties return five of their top seven runners from last year's divisional state meet, including junior Jacob Fink (fourth), senior Sam Culver (sixth) and junior Jesse Seid (eighth). Frontier Regional junior Alex Sharp, a runner-up to Pope Francis grad Tim Sears at the 2016-17 meet, returns. Sharp, who owns a best of 17:06. leads a Redhawks squad that's capable of putting an end to Mount Greylock's streak. Carsten Carey, a junior, is a solid No. 2 for Frontier. He was 11th at last year's meet and clocked a best of 17:07 at the PVIAC Championships.
