State Meet Records That Could Fall This Season

BOYS' 400m

Meet Record: 47.52 - Mike Greene, Boston College High, 1983

This record has stood around for 34 years, but we feel it will finally go down this spring. The recipient we believe will knock it off is the same person that dominated the 600m this past winter, Burncoat's Rodney Agyare-May. Agyare-May broke 48 seconds for the first time in his career at the New Balance Nationals Indoor Championships where he finished ninth overall in 47.67. Considering the Harvard-bound runner did this on the indoor surface, we feel he's capable of running a time in the low 47s once he competes outdoors. Plus, just like indoor, he could be pushed to the limit by Newton North's Theo Burba. Both runners broke 1:19 for 600m with Agyare-May establishing the state record of 1:18.31 to win the New England Championships.
