Athletes To Watch At MSTCA Coaches Invitational

Norton's Brooke-Lynn Williams, far left, could challenge her 55m record this weekend.

Taking a look at the Small Schools, which start at 10 a.m. on Sunday, here some of the top athletes.

  • Norton's Brooke-Lynn Williams should challenge her meet record of 7.06 in the girls 55m dash, which she did last year. Williams had a season best of 7.02 this past weekend when she placed third at the Yale Track Classic. She owns a PB of 6.87,
  • The girls' 300m could also be a record-breaker with sophomores Alyysa Madden (40.72) and Medway's Ava Vasile (40.74) on the cusp to break 40 seconds. The present meet mark is 39.27, set in 2011.
  • Check out the boys' 600m where Burncoat's Rodney Agyare-May is the No. 1 seed. Agyare-May is currently ranked third in the country in the 600m with his season best of 1:21.89 from the MSTCA Speed Classic last month. He holds the meet record of 1:18.94, set last year. With the right kind of race, can he challenge that mark and possibly move to No. 1 in the country? It should be interesting.
  • The girls' shot put should be competitive with 40-footers Cameron Garabian of Seekonk and Chloe Eressy of Dennis Yarmouth in the field.
