On the girls side of the freshman 2.5k, Colleen Barry of Walpole pulled away from the competition and won with 10:14. The battle for second was a close one, as the 2-4 runners--Caroline Crook of Newton North, Jenny Sivieiri of Weymouth, and Dana Krikov of Needham--were all within about half a second of each other, with all three running 10:27.
