• Wareham track sensation Aliyah Alley adjusts to life at UMass Lowell

LOWELL – Named after the illustrious R&B singer, Aliyah Alley surely lived up to her namesake in her first semester at UMass Lowell, encountering a fair share of blues as she tried to adapt to the rhythm of college athletics.

The 18-year-old Wareham native dominated the Massachusetts high school track and field scene during her senior year, culminating in a pair of second-place performances at the spring class championships. But the higher Alley climbed, the more precipitous the fall became when she made the transition from a small Div. 3 high school to a large Div. 1 college athletic program.
