Norwell's Steven O'Driscoll and Arlington Catholic's Sean Kay appear to be the runners to keep an eye on in this race. O'Driscoll owns the fastest time at Wrentham among his rivals, finishing second to Newburyport's Sam Acquaviva at the Bay State Invitational where he clocked a strong 16:13 for the 5K course. O'Driscoll also dipped under 16 minutes at the Twilight Invitational and ran 16:37 at Frank Kelley back in September. Kay won the Division 2 Open race at the Kelley Invite where he ran his best of 16:17. He also posted a convincing victory at the Catholic Central League Championships where he won by a minute! Pentucket's Peter Lopata, who was third at the recent Cape Ann League Championships, could also battle up front. He was 13th overall in the Championship race at the Kelley meet where he ran 16:37.89.
As for the team title, it could be a close one with Pentucket, Triton Regional, Seekonk and Norwell among the top squads.
