Weston Twilight Invitational 2017
Saturday, May 6, 2017
7:00 11:00 PM

At REGIS COLLEGE, WESTON
This year marks the 20th edition of our twilight meet. We will hold the meet at Regis College, as we did in 2016. It will be a busy day at Regis on May 6: graduation in the late
morning/early afternoon, a conference championship lacrosse game in the mid-afternoon, and our meet in the evening. I am grateful to Regis for being willing to continue to host our meet despite all these other events on campus. However, due to the lacrosse game, we will be delaying our start until 7 PM. Since we want to get done by 11:00, we will be limiting the number of entries in each event. Entry limits will be described below. If we get a favorable vote at the
Weston Town meeting this May, construction will begin on our new track facility on June 1, and well be back at WHS next year, which will allow us much more flexibility in terms of start time, number of entries accepted, etc. For this year we will just need to be patient and accept that the
meet will be limited.

Weston Twilight will be LIVE on @MileSplit click on link above.

**This meet has been sanctioned by the MIAA**
Parking:
Regis College does not have sufficient parking for a meet of this size. As a result all buses and many cars will need to park at Weston HS, about 1000 meters up the road. We will be
running shuttle buses all throughout the meet from the Regis track to the Weston parking lots. (Ill try to make sure the driver stays to the end of the meet this year so I dont have to use my Insight as a makeshift shuttle bus!) Both buses and cars can drop off passengers at the Regis track but then will need to proceed to Weston HS to park.

Please dont arrive on campus before 6PM! The lacrosse game will be on the field inside the track, you probably cant get into the track area anyway, and Regis parking will likely be full.

Seating:
Spectators and coaches should be advised that there is virtually no seating at the Regis track. There is also limited space for tents, and tents will only be allowed in designated areas.

Entry Details:
(1) All entries will go through the www.directathletics.com website. If you were at the meet last year, you should already be scheduled into the meet on Direct Athletics. If you are not, contact me and Ill create the link.
(2) Entry Deadline: midnight, Wednesday, May 3.
(3) Entry Limits:
(a) An athlete may be entered in a maximum of three events.
(b) All athletes entered in individual events must have met the qualifying standards in their events.
(4) Entry Guidelines:
We will be limiting the number of accepted entries this year in accordance with the table below. I will open the entries for viewing on Direct Athletics, as was done for the indoor MIAA meets, so you can see how deep the fields are in each event. Since we are limiting fields, I have
put up guideline standards based on last years entries. Meeting the guidelines doesnt guarantee acceptance, we will ultimately limit the field in each event to a certain number of athletes. As we will be limiting field and may not accept everyone, we are requiring coaches to
enter a date/place for each athletes qualifying mark. INDOOR TIMES/DISTANCES FROM
THE 2017 SEASON WILL BE ACCEPTED. Indoor time conversions must be done using the
USATFCCCA standard conversion factors, available at
http://www.ustfccca.org/assets/track-event-conversions-standardized.pdf . If you use an indoor performance, use the CONVERTED time as the entry time and enter the date and place of the indoor meet at which the performance was achieved. See the bottom of the entry standard list for indoor distances that may be used. PLEASE BE HONEST! Well be checking some of the entry times, but not all of them, so were relying on all of you to submit accurate performances.

If you enter an athlete and later determine that the athlete will not compete, please remove the entry so that others can get accepted. Also, if you know after entries close but before Friday 3PM that an athlete will not compete, let me know. There may be others who still wish to compete who can be accepted then.
We will post the accepted athletes and relay teams on Thursday, May 4, on both our own meet page and ma.milesplit.com.
(5) Entry Fees: (Note: we do this different from most other meets so read carefully!)
1. $10.00 per athlete to a maximum of $200.00 per team (boys and girls have a
separate fee).
2. Once an athlete has been entered in the meet, he/she can participate in up to 3 events.
No additional fee for additional events.
3. Relays do not cost any additional money, as long as the 4 competitors have been
entered and paid for. If an athlete is running a relay only it is still $10.00.
Examples: Athlete A participates in the 100, Long Jump, and 4 x 100 Relay.
Athlete B runs the 2 Mile.
Athlete C runs 3rd leg on 4 x 800.
Each of these athletes costs $10.00. Just multiply the number of athletes you have entered
by $10.00 and thats what you owe.
Either mail your check or P.O. (made out to Town of Weston) or bring it to the meet. Mailing
