Cross Country Squads Compete at NCAA Mideast Regional

Widener saw its harriers take to the grass by competing at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Center Valley, PA.

On the men's side, senior All-American Michael Garrity (Glenolden, PA) closed the 8,000 meters 36th in 26:39 and junior Ryan Gallagher (Langhorne, PA) ran in 27:46. Senior Dennis Conn (Morton, PA) finished in 28:05 and freshman Nick Chekas (Caton, CT) ended in 28:14.

The Pride finished 16th out of 47 schools.

For the women, sophomore Kellie Medendorp (Prospect Park, PA) ran the 6,000 meters in 25:47 and junior Ashley Callahan (Clementon, NJ) ended in 26:28. Tara Moken (Somerdale, NJ) closed in 27:51 and fellow freshman Chelsea Morrison (Philadelphia, PA) finished in 28:46.

Widener will wait to see if anyone will compete at the NCAA Championships next Saturday.
