Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth At MAC Championships; Women Take Ninth

Widener's men's cross country team took fourth place and the women placed ninth at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in Grantham, PA.

The men's team closed with 97 points, just two behind DeSales for third. Freshman Chris Garrity (Glenolden, PA) made first team all-conference and was named the league's Rookie of the Year, finishing in ninth in 28:17.50. Junior Ryan Gallagher (Langhorne, PA) and senior All-American Michael Garrity (Glenolden, PA) made second team all-conference. Gallagher finished 16th in 28:35.30 and Garrity ended in 17th with a time of 28:38.20.

Sophomore Kellie Medendorp (Prospect Park, PA) finished with a time of 26:46.50. Sophomore Ashley Callahan (Clementon, NJ) followed closely behind as she ended with a time of 27:25.80.

The teams return to action November 12 at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Center Valley, PA.
