Massachusetts Highlights

  • Max Darrah of Georgetown (formerly of Dennis-Yarmouth) won the 3,000m steeplechase in 8:59.69.
  • Moira Cronin finished 3rd in the high jump with a clearance of 5'8.50".  She just missed qualifying for the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships by one place.
  • Josh Lampron finished 2nd (3:54.06) in heat #1 to qualify for the finals with splits of 46.56 (300m), 65.97, 65.37, and 56.17  (video below).  He  would finish 5th in the finals with a time of 3:50.24.  Lampron was in the back of the pack at 1200m and closed well, but Austin Mudd and Elias Gedyon have equally impressive foot speed, and  the leaders just had too much space entering the final 200m.
  • Patrick McGowan, former Mansfield star and current UMass star, finished 2nd in Heat #1 (13th overall) in the 5,000m with a time of 14:48.08.
  • John Murray ran a MA#2 time of 14:49.71 to finish 14th overall in the 5,000m.
