Highlights

With only one event remaining, the Old Rochester girls were leading Coyle & Cassidy by 3 points and Narragansett by 7 points. Old Rochester would finish 8th in the 4x400 meter relay, securing the 1 point they needed for the team championship. Bromfield won the 4x400m (4:09.88) but would come-up two points short of the team title. Coyle & Cassidy finished 3rd with 35 points and Narragansett was 4th with 32 points.

A similar scenario was brewing on the boys' side. Newburyport and Sutton would also need the 4x400m to decide the team championship. The race would remain dead-even after 3 legs, until Newburyport opened a small gap in the final corner to win the event in 3:32.00.......and the meet by 1 point over Sutton.

Brett Buskey (Blackstone-Millville) was dominate in his record setting 55 Meter Dash win. His time of 6.52 just edged the 2001 record of 6.54 set by Steve Miceli of Mashpee. Buskey is now #2 in the state.

In the girls mile, the top 5 seeds remained in contact until Weston teammates Abigail Pohl and Olivia Brackett decided to make a move together at 800m. Pohl would eventually pull away for the win in 5:08.30. Brackett was 2nd in 5:11.27, followed by freshman Renee Capps of Narragansett in 5:12.43.
