Watch: Justin Braun Produces 6.75 60m Mark Versus Collegians

Competing against collegians, Justin Braun opened his indoor season last weekend at the Sharon-Colyear Danville meet hosted by Boston University Academy

Despite several months of competitive downtime, no shaking off rust was necessary for Braun on this occasion, as the recently confirmed University of Southern California commit appeared in peak form going a career best 6.75 in the 60m dash to place second overall.

Toby Makoyawo from the host Terriers team capitalized on his familiarity of home track earning the event victory in 6.70.

Representing his club team, the Ohio Heat, Braun put himself in great standing with his initial prelims effort, where he won his heat in 6.82. His 6.75 finals showing stations him atop both the state and national high school leaderboards and places him in a tie for second on Ohio's all-time listing.

Braun now shares that spot with Blake Heriot, formerly of Gahanna Lincoln, who recorded his matching 6.75 back in 2010 at the UK High School Invite.

The duo trails Mayfield graduate Andy Isabella and his 6.72 mark from the 2015 NEOITC Buckeye Division meet.
