New York Boys State Rankings - Week 5

Following Week of Saturday, October 13

Week 5 rankings got big contributions from the giant Manhattan Invite along with the Burnt Hills and Alden Bulldog meets. Fayetteville-Manlius solidified its place atop the Class A ranking with a 2nd behind RI's Bishop Hendricken in the Eastern States race at Manhattan, but Smithtown, Liverpool, and Corning all finished in the top 12 of the ES. The NY boys teams didn't manage to win quite as many Manhattan letter races as the girls did, but they still came away with four of the supersized trophies. Shenendehowa won the C race, Shaker took the D, Trinity got the F, and Cornwall captured the G.

Elsewhere in other big news, Burnt Hills soared back on top of the speed ratings charts in the state with a win in the Burnt Hills-3 race that pushed them back up to 179.6, slightly ahead of FM's 179.4. Saranac Lake also had a great day with a win in the Division 2 race to move close behind Trinity in the Class rankings. At the Alden Bulldog, Class B teams won both races as Pioneer won the Large race and East Aurora took the Small contest. Saratoga picked up a win during a review of the Sunken Meadow course at the Suffolk Officials meet. Other winners included Fairport in the Auburn invite, Owego at Newark Valley, and Norwood-Norfolk in North Country.

A final lighter week for the regular season is mainly on tap for the coming weekend highlighted by the Section 1 Coaches meet that includes twenty ranked teams.
