Countdown: No. 4, Sub 2:07 For Friborg At NBN

As expected, this was an extremely difficult task. With so many to chose from, we have come up with a list of what we consider the top 20 performances of the outdoor track & field season. We rank them in order, beginning with No. 20 and finishing with No. 1.

Countdown: No. 4, Sub 2:07 For Friborg At NBN

Based on what she did during the indoor campaign and from her first competitive 800-meter race at the Weston Twilight Invitational, we had an inkling that Acton-Boxborough senior Samantha Friborg would prosper in her specialty at the New Balance Nationals. On a hot afternoon and North Carolina, the Yale-bound Friborg came through with her finest performance of her high school career by finishing fourth overall with an all-time best of 2:06.13. For the season, that time ranked her No. 6 in the national rankings. Friborg, who was fifth at the indoor nationals, was destined to peak at just the right time. She kicked off her season with a dominating win at Weston where she ran 2:10.38. Less than two weeks later, she won the Dual Valley League Championship in 2:10.09. Friborg concluded her career against her MA rivals by taking the Eastern Massachusetts Division 1 crown in 2:07.75 and the All State title in 2:07.27.
