SPRINTS

The name that is noticeably missing from this list is defending 100- and 200-meter champion Davonte Burnett of Needham. In the 100m., underclassmen occupy the top three seeds with the sophomore trio of Westborough's Ethan Clark (10.78), Shepherd Hill's Bryan Santos (10.82) and Lowell's Richmond Kwaateng (10.85). Clark and Santos were the 1-2 finishers at the Central/Western Division 1 Championships and Kwaateng (10.85) took the Eastern Division 1 crown. There's also New England Indoor 55m titlist John Caouette of Oakmont Regional (10.92), who captured the Western/Central Division 2 crown. Eli Johnson of East Longmeadow (10.96) and Acton-Boxborough's Noah Sweeney (10.99) are two other sub 11-second runners in the field. Judging by the field, this race should provide plenty of excitement Caouette has proven he has the ability to perform at his best in a big-time event and may have the edge here.

Caouette is the top seed in the 200m dash, an event that features eight sprinters that are separated by less than  a half a second based on seed time. Caouette owns the fastest time with his PR of 21.76, which he did at the divisionals. He'll be matched against Shrewsbury's Joseph O'Brien, Wahconah's Matthew  Lighten, Wachusett's Manni Peri-Okonny and Watertown's Mange Camara to name a few. All have done at 22.03 or faster. O'Brien is the Western/Central Division 1 titlist where he clocked a PB of 21.79. He was the indoor Division 1 300m  champion.

In the 400m dash, the favorite would have to be Somerville's Phillips Magre, who won a competitive race against Belmont's Calvin Perkins at the Eastern Division 2 meet where he was timed in 48.50 to Perkin's' 48.74. This event features 10 that have dipped under 50 seconds, including Weston sophomore Peter Diebold (49.31), Shrewsbury's Christopher Matthews (49.38) and Greater New Bedford's Dejury Amado (49.39). This could come down to a battle between Magre and Perkins in a rematch of their division race. Both will be looking to win their second All State crown. During the indoor season, Magre captured the 300m title and Perkins was first in the 600m.
