Freshmen-Sophomore Large School Meet
Wellesley's Abby Comella, who captured the 600-meter title at the All State Meet this past winter, was a double-winner. She blazed to a time of 25.81 in the 200m dash and won the 400m with a meet record time of 57.29. Last year she was our third-place finisher in this event at the outdoor state meet. Also setting MR was Chelsea's Stephanie Simon in the high jump. Simon cleared a state-leading 5 feet, 5 inches. Hingham's Lila Belsher was second with an equally-impressive 5-3.
Shawn Carter of Boston College High clocked a sizzling 50.45 to win the 400m dash. Hopkinton's Alex Brown went sub-10 in the two mile, winning the event with a time of 9:58.59. In the 400m hurdles, Jeff Yang of Plymouth North went 57.7 to earn his medal. It was his second straight title. Last year he won the event in the Small School meet.
