Reilly, Condon Snare Pentathlon Titles


Stoneham's Mike Reilly and Martha's Vineyard's Mackenzie Condon were the respective individual winners at Saturday's MSTCA Pentathlon Invitational, held in North Andover.

Reilly edged runner-up Jordan Williams of Brockton by just eight points with a score of 2,968. The Spartan senior finished no less than third in all five events. He was second in the high jump (1.8 meters, 622 points), the long jump (6.24m, 639 points) and the shot (10.49m, 515 points). He collected a pair of thirds in the 1,500m (4:56.61, 579 points) and the 110m hurdles (17.16, 608 points)

Condon collected 2,780 points, a comfortable 156 points ahead of second-place Caitlin Sardelis of Apponequet Regional. Condon earned wins in three of the events. She posted the fastest time in the 100m hurdles (16.16, 695 points) and the 800m (2:32.74, 659 points). She also had the best distance in the long jump (5.11m, 589 points). Additionally, she was third in the shot (7.66m, 377 points) and 11th overall in the high jump (1.35m, 460 points).
