Five Events You Can't Miss At New England's!

Boys' Two Mile

We predict this will be a competitive race in the early stages, but the one we feel will comfortably break the tape at the end is Ryan Oosting. The Arlington junior looked very relaxed running 9:08 at the All State Meet this past weekend, and that was after running a "leisurely" 4:21 in the mile 90 minutes earlier. We picked this race not because we thought it would be close. We picked it because we believe Oosting has a chance at running sub nine and breaking the 2016 meet record of 8:59.05 by former La Salle great and current Stanford freshman DJ Principe. According to the preliminary entries for the New Balance Nationals that were released on Thursday, Oosting is entered in just the two mile.  It would appear that he would want to use Saturday's race as one final tune-up before next Sunday's race. In other words, he'll be focused on a fast time.
