EMass Division State Meet: Large School Recaps

Eastern Massachusetts Division 2 Boys

After the first 1,200 meters when he took a glance at his watch as he was running with the lead pack, we knew Ryan Oosting was focused more on a win than a fast time. The Arlington junior ran a comfortable 15:51.52 to beat Wellesley Tom Weiss (15:56.18) by about five seconds. Concord-Carlisle's Timothy McClure (third, 15:57.62),  Wellesley's Matt Cervon (fourth, 16:00.32) and Plymouth North's Nick McNamee (fifth, 16:00.96) were close behind.

Wellesley held off a strong effort by Concord-Carlisle to win the team title with a 68-84 decision. The Raiders averaged a time of 16:15 for their five scoring runners as opposed to the Patriots' 16:20.
