Sunday

Sunday was the busiest day for Kentucky athletes starting with the Boys Two Mile Run.  Two Kentucky athletes ran Jackson Carnes (St. Xavier) and Ryan Smith (DixieHeights).  Carnes finished 26th with a time of 9:41.82.  Smith who had already run a 15:35 5K Friday night, finished 31st in the Two Mile Run with a 9:48.95. 

 

Next we had the 800m Run with three athletes competing.  All but two heats were run in the morning.  Robbie Scharold (CampbellCounty) finished 2nd in his heat and 10th overall with a personal best time of 1:56.57.  St. Xavier had Geoffrey Spencer and Matt Hillenbrand each coming in with best times under 2:00 were slightly off and finished 70th (Spencer 2:04.53) and 72nd (Hillenbrand 2:05.43.)

 

Patrick Stuart (Glasgow) finished 30th in the Shot Put with a toss of 48-07.50.

 

St. Xavier having already run the Distance Medley Relay also competed in the 3200m Relay.  Jackson Carnes, Geoffrey Spencer, Matt Hillenbrand, and Justin Brezosky ran on the team that finished 26th running an 8:36.68.

 

Emma Brink (Sacred Heart) finished off the day competing in the One Mile Run.  She finished 5th overall with a 4:55.12 earning All-American Honors. 

 

 

 

Saturday

St. Xavier finished 20th in the Distance Medley with a time of 10:38.11.  The Relay Team was composed of Geoffrey Spencer, Jackson Carnes, Matt Hillenbrand, and Justin Brezosky.

 

Friday Night

Ryan Smith (Dixie Heights) ran a personal best time of 15:35.46 tonight at Nike Indoor Nationals in Boston.  He finished 17th overall running for the Northern Kentucky Track Club.    Freshmen Lukas Verzbicas (IL) broke the National 5K record with his winning time of 14:18.42.
