North Andover Boys, Wellesley Girls Earn Crowns At MSTCA Division 2 State Relays

In a pair of down-to-the-wire affairs at the MSTCA Division 2 State Relays Friday night, it was North Andover and Wellesley that came out on top for the respective boys' and girls' team titles.

North Andover squeaked out a four-point win over runner-up Woburn, 52-48. In the girls meet, some strong placements in the final few events allowed Wellesley to capture its second straight crown with a 54-48 decision over second-place Woburn

Three meet records were established in the nearly four-hour meet, held at the Reggie Lewis Center. Marshfield dipped under eight minutes in the 4x800-meter relay with a winning time and MR of 7:57.74. The other records were set by the North Andover boys in the 50-yard shuttle hurdle relay (25.34) and the Wellesley girls in the high jump (4.69 meters).
