2016 Eastern MA Girls XC Team Preview (D1-D3)

D2 Team

For the last five years, Needham and Lincoln-Sudbury have had firm grip on the team title in D2 Eastern MA. They're perennially the best teams in the state and they come to race year in and year out. Though things are a little shaken up this fall, as Needham is in a re-building year and Lincoln-Sudbury looks to remain a top contender after the departure of Ariel Keklak.

Out to capitalize and be the new team to beat in D2, Beverly girls enter 2016 with a tough 1-2-3 punch. Julia Curtin is in the mix to be the best runner in the state, while Abby Walsh and Ashley Foley should be in the Top at the All-State level. Though as we all know, your #4 and #5 runners are going to be crucial in team success and right now Beverly has a bit of a dangerous drop off to their final scoring runners.

While Lincoln-Sudbury no longer has a huge frontrunner in Ariel Keklak, the Lady Warriors should not be considered down and out. Alexandra Wolf will be a solid leader for LS and their #3-#5 runners will definitely contend with Beverly's #3-#5 runners.

As of now, we will say Beverly is our early season favorite to lead the Eastern MA D2 field. Though we will be keeping close tabs on Lincoln-Sudbury and so should Beverly!
