Three-time Olympian Shalane Flanagan is throwing her considerable (metaphorical) weight behind the resurfacing of the first track she raced on.
Flanagan will run a 5K to be held on November 29 in her hometown of Marblehead, Massachusetts, The Salem News reports. The Marblehead All-Sports Foundation is holding the race to help fund a $575,000 resurfacing of the town's track.
