A Look Back At The Newburyport Clipper Relays (fixed link)

On a beautiful early September day, the cross-country season kicked off at Maudsley State Park last Saturday with the Annual Clipper Relays. The relays are a perfect early season barometer for some of the state's elite teams. Over 1200 runners competed in the 3 x 2 Mile race on the rolling Maudsley State Park trails. The 2012 Mass All State Champions from Lowell defended their Clipper Relays title by edging Peabody High School. Lowell's time for the 6 Mile loop was 30:10, they won by a slim 7 seconds over the Tanners. The Peabody girls are off to a nice start by running 36:00 minutes on the rolling six mile course. There time was only six seconds slower than their Cat Rocha winning team from 2012.
