Rhode Island Classic Highlights Dec 29, 2011

  A personal best in the 25-pound weigh throw with the nation’s No. 1 distance, a near state mark in the 55-meter dash and a back-and-forth duel for first place in the long jump.  There was a select group of Rhode Island athletes that made their way to the victory stand at the annual R.I. Classic Track & Field Invitational on Dec. 28. And the few that did certainly made their presence known inside the confines of the Providence Career and Technical Academy field house.

Best Yet To Come For Kilcoyne Brothers Dec 29, 2011

Dan Kilcoyne thought about giving up running.  The Chariho Regional High School senior was dealing with the stresses that come in that final year. He was focused on college applications and scholarships all while balancing the sport he had fell in love with six years ago as a sixth grader. The decision was hard, but in the end he couldn't quit on his teammates.

Crawley second in R.I. Track Classic 3,000-meter race Dec 29, 2011

Whether it’s a cross-country or track race, there’s only one place where Trevor Crawley feels the most comfortable, and that’s right up front.  For almost the entire distance of the 3,000-meter run at Wednesday’s Rhode Island Track Classic, Crawley took his customary, front-runner position, rattling off consistent 200 splits between 36-37 seconds. (via www.woonsocketcall.com)
