Highlights
- Xaverian edged Boston College High in a nail-biter 28 to 29. The win solidifies a conference championship for the Hawks who ended the season 4-0 and narrowly avoided a tie at 3-1 with St. John's Prep. Boston College High finished 3rd in the conference at 2-2. Results
- Ludlow upset #4 Amherst today on a very tough 5,000m course at Ludlow. Dan Crowley broke the course record (16:17) while Ludlow went 1, 2, 4 against the Hurricanes. Results
- Zach Ganshirt of Walpole continued his streak from the weekend by setting a home course record of 13:12 for the 2.57 mile distance in their tri-meet against Weymouth and Braintree. Walpole won the meet 21 to 35 over Weymouth, and 15 to 50 over Braintree. Results
- Abington beat Cohasset/Hull 15-49 to improve to 5-1 and stet-up a showdown with with East Bridgewater next weekend for the South Shore League Crown. Abington has not won a SSL crown since the early 1980's, and Brendan Whalen will put his undefeated dual meet record up against that of Tanner Picklus of East Bridgewater in that meet.
- Several teams had to recover quickly from taxing efforts over the weekend at the Brown Invitational. Sandwich and Marshfield squared-off in the ACL with Sandwich getting the win 25-35, and Pembroke battled Whitman-Hanson in the Patriot League with Pembroke sweeping the top 3 spots for a 20-35 point victory. All four were in the Boys Championship Division of the Brown Invitational on Saturday.
- The Weymouth girls clinched at least a share of their third straight Carey Division title with a 22-34 win over Walpole, and 16-44 win over Braintree. Bridget Jaklitsch (17:37) and Morgan Fitzgibbon (17:47) went 1-2 on Walpole's 2.57 mile course. Results
- The Dennis-Yarmouth girls clinched their 5th consecutive ACL championship and their 10th in 11 years. The Dolphins defeated Plymouth North 18-41 to improve to 7-0 in the league.
- Audrey Gould of Amherst shattered the Ludlow course record by 22 seconds as she covered the 5K distance in 20:49. Her team beat Ludlow 23-33, and defeated Mohawk 18-40.
- Ben Groleau set a new home course record of 14:47 for the 2.95 mile distance as Framingham beat Dedham 15-50, but lost to Newton North 24-35.
- The Lowell boys finished the regular season undefeated (9-0) in the MVC with a 19-37 win over Chelmsford and a 15-48 win over Dracut. They secured their 16th straight title last week with wins over Lawrence and Methuen.
- The Mt. Greylock girls ended the league season undefeated after sweeping the top 6 spots in their meet against Mt. Everett, Hoosac, and BART. Laura Nolan won her fifth race of the year with a personal best time of 16:31 on the 4,000 meter Mt. Greylock home course.
- The Mansfield boys finished off a perfect regular season with two wins on Friday, taking the tri-meet against Foxboro (20-43) and Sharon (15-50). Brendan Sullivan of Foxboro won the meet in 15:08, but was followed by seven Hornets.
