Highlights

  • Lowell has spent the last couple of weeks trying to get healthy.  If this performance is any indication, they are well on their way.  Led by Alex Andujar (13:15) and Patrick Coppinger (13:16) in second and thrid respectively, the group crushed the Varsity Boys "E" race with a 62 point win over second place Hackensack.  Michael Kalenoski (13:29), Nathan McCarthy (13:35), and Ricardo Torres (13:54) also had impressive races as the team combined for a 39 second 1-5 gap and 55 total points.

  • Quinn Cooney of Chelmsford won the Frosh "A" race in 6:05.71 (1.25 miles).  He was just off the meet record of 6:05.60 set in 2009 by Danile Galford of Sayville, NY.  In that same race, Evan MacMullin of St. John's Prep cracked the top 10; finishing 9th in 6:35.45.  MacMullin's team finished 2nd (92 points) behind national power CBA who won the event with 49 points.

  • Lincoln-Sudbury finished 3rd in the Boys JV "B" race with 109 points and an average time of 15:00.56 for 2.5 miles.  Chelmsford finished 5th with 147 points and an average time of 15:09.88, while Lowell finished 4th in the Boys JV "C" race with 134 points and a 14:44 average.

  • The trio of Eli Hoenig (13:34), Matt Barnes (13:45), and Connor Daly (13:53) once again led Lincoln-Sudbury to another successful finish. This time the squad wound-up 3rd in the Varsity Boys "D" race with 137 points and a 14:03 average.  L-S was just two points away from second place Saint Joseph's.

  • St. John' Prep finished 3rd in the Varsity Boys "F" race with 144 points and a 14:25 average.  Jacob Smith led the group with a 19th place finish in 14:10.

  • Robert Massey of Chelmsford finished 6th in the Varsity Boys "G" race with a final time of 13:38.  His team also finished 6th with 210 points and a 14:22 average.  But it was Dennis Muldoon of Catholic Memorial who was the top Massachusetts finisher in the race, locking down second place with a time of 13:24.

  • The Lowell girls took a cue from the success of the boys' program and placed three athletes in the top 10 of the Varsity Girls "B" race.  Erin Donovan led the group in 6th (16:01), and was followed by Bryanna Allison in 9th (16:13) and Grace Ndungu in 10th (16:14).  The team finished 3rd in the race with 134 points and a 16:57 average.

  • Chelmsford finished 4th in the Varsity Girls "D" race with 128 points and a 16:51 average.  Alli Wood paced the group in 12th place and a finishing time of 16:25.
