It's Tough to be a Titan

Pembroke, MA - Don’t let the joking demeanor of the coaches and athletes fool you, running for Pembroke isn’t easy.  The 2010 Massachusetts Division 2 State Champions and NXN qualifiers have enormous expectations, and what they view as average, most teams view as a massive accomplishment.  Contrary to what some would like to believe, there is no magic to the Pembroke program.  What defines the Titans is not what they do; rather, it’s how they do it.  Coach Zopatti has found the precise mix of fun and intensity that makes high school programs thrive.

Pembroke was kind enough to film their Saturday session of 1000 meter repeats for our Workout of the Week segment.  The interval distance may be common, but what's not common is the execution and focus.  This small school of just over 800 students has found a way to compete on a national stage by getting the absolute most out of every single runner. The atheltes believe in the program, and because of that, the program has been very good to them.  Belief, support, and desire are words that grace the front of their team website, and those words are the foundation upon which Pembroke builds champions.

A special thanks the the Pembroke coaches and atheltes for contributing to our Workout of the Week segment.  If your team would like to be part of the series please contact Patrick Bendzick at pbendzick@milesplit.us or send in a video of your favorite workout.
