  • Whitman-Hanson went 1-2-3 to win the Division 1 Girls race.  They also too 7th and 18th to secure a 34 point win over Franklin.  Gianna Cacciatore won the race in 20:06, followed by Rachel Baker (20:13), and Abby Baker (20:14).

  • Chernet Sisay made an argument for himself as the best runner in the state.  A slow course prevented the times from truly reflecting the quality of performances, but Sisay methodically dismantled a very talented field.  He employed a very patient tactic that place him near 20th place at the half-way point, and then patiently brought the leaders back.  With 800m to go, Sisay had Pat Ryan of Whitman-Hanson and Zach Ganshirt of Walpole in his sights.  It only took one more turn before Sisay entered the home stretch with the lead and secured the win in 16:30.  Ryan would finish second in 16:35, and Ganshirt was third in 16:37.  Paolo Tavares (16:51) and Quintin Stipp (16:56) rounded out the top five.

  • Lincoln-Sudbury and Brookline found themselved tied at 131 points in the Divison 1 Boys Varsity race until the 6th man tie-breaker clinched the win for L-S.  Senior Greg Holman was the hero of the day as his 63rd place finish earned his team the win.

  • Stephen Robertson of Wakefield went toe-to-toe with Brendan Sullivan of Foxborough, as the two broke away from the field early in the Division 2 Varsity Boys race.  Robertson (16:30) would edge Sullivan (16:34) for the win in the final 300 meters.

  • Hopedale was the dominant team of the Division 2 Varsity Boys race.  The Blue Raiders combined for 39 total points; over 71 points ahead of second place Martha's Vineyard.

  • Jordan O'Dea is picking up right where she left off in 2010.  The Dennis-Yarmouth junior broke the field early and cruised to a 34 second win the in the Division 2 Varsity Girls race.  Her finishing time of 19:29 was the fastest time of the day.

  • Hamilton-Wenham justified their MA#2 ranking by putting their top 5 in the first 30 spots and winning the meet with 51 points.  The Generals were 85 points ahead of second place Dennis-Yarmouth.

  • The future looks bright for Seekonk.  The Warriors put 6 runners in the top 15 spots of the Divison 2 Freshman race and posted a miniscule 23 second gap.  The Freshman and JV races were not scored, but if they had, Seekonk would have easliy won with 46 points.
