Weekend Roundup: Clippers Relays, Vineyard Invite


Wellesley High and Exeter (NH) were the respective boys' and girls' team champions at the annual Clipper Relays on Saturday. The Red Raiders set a new meet record for the 3x2 Mile event with a winning time of 29 minutes, 21 seconds, breaking the old mark of 29:31, set by Wellesley in 2016. Second-place finisher Lexington also dipped under the record with a time of 29:30. In the girls' race, Exeter won with a combined time of 35:55. Lexington was second at 36:07.

Also on Saturday, Shepherd Hill claimed it second straight crown with an 86-98 win over Groton Dunstable. Rebekah James led her teammates by taking the individual title with a time of 18:45.11 for the 5K course.

Woburn captured the boys' title with 113 points. Boston City Wide was second with 125 points. Shane Henderson of Old Saybrook (CT) broke the tape first in 16:07.38. Brockton's Imanuel Fernandes took second in 16:08.76.
