Countdown: No. 7, Record-Breaker For Stoller

As expected, this was an extremely difficult task. With so many to chose from, we have come up with a list of what we consider the top 20 performances of the outdoor track & field season. We rank them in order, beginning with No. 20 and finishing with No. 1.

Countdown: No. 7, Record-Breaker For Stoller

There were several outstanding performances at this spring's All State Meet. But there was only one state mark that was set, and it belonged to Sharon senior Shira Stoller. The Eagle standout defended her title in the javelin with an eight-foot personal best of 156-10. That heave ranked tied for seventh in the final national rankings.  The effort shouldn't come as a surprise. Stoller has been one of our most consistent and successful javelin-throwers in the state the last few years. A week after States, she captured her second straight New England title. She followed that performance by earning All-American status for the first time by taking runner-up honors in her specialty at the New Balance Nationals where she had a toss of 148-10. Finishing right behind Stoller at all three meets, including nationals, was fellow rival Erin McMeniman of Dracut.
