From morning until nighttime, Massachusetts' athletes will be on the trails on Saturday.
The weekend meets begin at Franklin Park with the 57th annual Catholic Memorial Invitational. The meet will consists of four races with two freshmen events and two varsity events. Among some of the school competing schools are Arlington Catholic, Archbishop Williams, Bishop Fenwick and Boston College High. The Frosh Girls will kick things off at 9:30 a.m. and the Varsity Boys will conclude the meet with the race scheduled for 10:30.
If you're a high school cross-country junkie, it shouldn't be difficult to pull off the double-header on Saturday. A good four hours after the Catholic Memorial Invite, the Barnstable Fairgrounds facility in Falmouth will be saturated with MA schools for the annual Bob McIntyre Twilight Cross-Country Invitational. That meet will feature 13 races, including some sure-to-be competitive varsity events at the tail end of the meet. The ninth-grader will begin things at 3 p.m.
