Massachusetts Memorable Outdoor T&F Moments: Brooke-Lynn Williams, 100m, New England Meet

During the early part of the summer, MileSplit MA will feature what we consider the best performances of the outdoor track & field season. This was an arduous task to undertake as there were an abundance of fine efforts turned in by our Bay Staters throughout this spring campaign.

Brooke-Lynn Williams

100m, New England Championships

This Norton High senior has been one of our state's most dominant sprinters in its history. During her outstanding high school career, Williams racked up six individual state titles in events ranging from the 55m dash to the 200m, four New England crowns and a handful of state records. Along the way, she posted victories in just about any meet she ran, particularly the last two years.

Williams swan song this spring included impressive wins for in the 100m dash at the Coaches Invitational, the Eastern Division 4 Championships and the MIAA All State Meet, where she was able to defend her title. She also clocked a season best and sub 25-second clocking of 24.85 for 200m to become one of a handful of double-winners at states. But the performance were going to put at the top of the list was her victory at the New England Championships on June 10. In her final race as a high-schooler, Williams didn't disappoint. With a strong start out of the blocks, the Penn State signee blazed to her second straight 100m crown with a season best of 11.94.
