Massachusetts Memorable Outdoor T&F Moments: Shraeya Srinvasan, Triple Jump, Hockomock Meet

During the early part of the summer, MileSplit MA will feature what we consider the best performances of the outdoor track & field season. This was an arduous task to undertake as there were an abundance of fine efforts turned in by our Bay Staters throughout this spring campaign. Without further adieu...

Shraeya Srinvasan

Triple jump, Hockomock League Championship - May 21

It's been said often. It's too bad that most of the field events are done away from the track where the fans are limited because there's plenty of good things happening at the jumping and throwing areas.

This Foxborough senior has been one of our top leapers the last three years, excelling in the triple jump. She won both titles at the State and New England Championships. Along the way, she also claimed gold at the New Bedford Sunset Invitational, the Hockomock League Championships and the Eastern Division 3 Championships. For Srinvasan, it was her performance at her league meet that we consider belongs at the top of the list.  It was there that she first cracked the 40-foot barrier with a distance of 40-8.50. At the time, the distance ranked No. 18 in the country.

Srinvasan would leap more than 40 feet one more time by capturing her New England title with a 40-0.25 effort. She would finish 15th at the New Balance Nationals a week later.
