Brodey Hasty Punches 4:01.75 In Full Mile At The Music City Distance Carnival

Brodey Hasty gave it all he had on Saturday at the Music City Distance Carnival boys one mile.

But the Brentwood (Tn.) High junior came up just short in a US No. 5 and No. 22 all-time effort of 4:01.75 to win the field.

Hasty, who will move on to the Brooks PR Invitational on June 17, was on pace through 405m and 805m and came through the 1205 mark at 3:02, which meant he needed a 57-second last lap to claim the 11th all-time effort under 4-minutes.

But while Hasty's turnover picked up considerably in the last lap, he logged a 59-second last lap.

Hasty has charted a fantastic junior season thus far and should enter his senior campaign as one of the top national prospects who could achieve high honors in several races.

He finished third at NXN (15:37.10) and then punched his first national title in the 3200m at New Balance Nationals Indoor (8:42.57) before winning a title in the 1600m in Tennessee.
