Connolly Clocks Nation No. 1 For Two Miles!

While some of our top underclassmen competed at the Twilight Invitational at night, a few decided to compete during the day at one of two freshmen-sophomore events.

Among the list was Natick's gifted sophomore Grace Connolly. The multiple all-stater not only won the two-mile race convincingly at the Large School meet, but clocked the fastest time in the nation so far with a near PR of 10 minutes, 47.04 seconds. Finishing second overall was Emma Whitehead of Shepard Hill in 11:34.25.

In the 400-meter dash, Wellesley's Abby Comella sizzled to a winning time of 57.94. Fellow teammate Ju Jordahl-Henry cleared a meet record of 5 feet, 4.5 inches in the high jump, an event she would improve on by half an inch at the Twilight meet at night.

Acton-Boxborough established a new MR in the boys' 4x800 with a winning time of 8:24.60.

In the Small School meet, held at Norwell, Littleton's twin sisters Sarah Roffman and Kaitlyn Roffman were 1-2 finishers in the mile and the 800m. Sarah clocked 5:06.98 to Kaitlyn's 5:11.92 in the longer event. Sarah was timed in 2:21.34 and Kaitlyn finished in 2:25.23 in the two-lapper.

Holliston's Brooke Geoffroy won the high jump with a meet record of 5-3-5. Seekonk's Cameron Garabien also put herself in the record books with a toss of 40-7 in the shot put.

Tiana Bazie of Dennis-Yartmouth set a MR of 118-6 in the discus.

Milton's Smith Charles was a double-winner in the boys' events. He captured the long jump with a meet record of 21-9.25. He also was first in the triple jump at 41-0.75.
