Quick Glance At Division 3 Championships

PERFORMANCE LIST

QUICK GLANCE: The team titles appear to be up for grabs for both the boys and girls with a few capable of bringing it home. Catholic Memorial and Amherst Pelham are among the favorites for boys , while Hopkinton, Winchester and possibly Concord-Carlisle are a few to consider in the girls' competition. The meet features the state's top shot-putter in Dartmouth's Colin McCabe. McCabe, who was 12th overall at last year's All State Meet, had a best of 57 feet, 10 inches at the Coaches Invitational a few weeks ago, a toss that is more than nine feet further than his best last year!. But he has a tough rival with Marlborough's Manny Teo also in the field. He's the No. 2 seed at 55-1. Keep your eyes focused on the infield because the boys' and girls' 55-meter dashes could come down to one last lean. In the boys, Ashton Begin of Diman Regional and Catholic Memorial's Ore Ojo both come in with a top-seeded time of 6.5 seconds. The girls have Sharon's Angela Wallace and Winchester's Augusta Burhans separated by a mere .02 with Wallace owning the No. 1 seed of 7.39. The gap between the top four is less than a tenth of a second. The girls' 1,000m has potential to come down to the wire. Hopkinton's Isabelle Giordano is the only runner at the line that has dipped under three minutes this season with her time of 2:59.93. Right behind is Sarah Reichheld of Concord-Carlise, who has done 3:00.42. In the girls' high jump, Zoe Dainton of Hingham will be looking to move up in the national rankings. She is currently tied for eighth in the country with a best of 5-8. How about Catholic Memorial in the boys' 4x400m?Just a few more seconds off its top-seeded time of 3:25.77 could put them in the top 15, top 20 nationwide. The boys' 600m could be a hotly-contested event with Amherst-Pelham's Aiden Foucault-Etheridge at the top of the list with his best of 1:22.18 for the three-lapper. There's a gap of less than two seconds between the next five runners in the field, beginning with Concord-Carlisle's Nathaniel Battista at 1:23.11 for the No. 2 seed.
