Nevada Mareno, Leesville Road (Raleigh, NC) WITHDREW
In the previous four years, North Carolina has won two titles in the Junior Mile with sisters Wesley and Ryen Frazier taking the 2013 and 2015 crowns, respectively. Mareno should make it three. The Leesville Road senior will be racing for the first time this indoor season, but she's coming off a fantastic cross-country campaign where she finished second at Foot Locker Nationals and just a few weeks ago led Team USA to the Junior Title at the Bupa Great Edinburgh X-C International Challenge. She's also proven to be among the best in the country in the mile. She won last year's indoor national title in the mile with an all-time best of 4:43.20, the fastest time in the field. She also placed third at the outdoor nationals with a near best of 4:43.39.
