Massachusetts State Champion Grace Connolly finally found some competition and it certainly paid off.
The sophomore from Natick battled three other State Champions over the rolling hills on the back side of Van Cortlandt Park. Connolly, who finished 23rd in this race in 2015, remained strong in the last 400 meters to capture fourth place and a qualifying spot to the National Championships on Dec 10th in San Diego, California.
Alyssa Aldridge from Linwood, NJ came across the line first in 17:40. Connolly battled the New Hampshire State Champion Jacqueline Gaughan ( 2nd / 17:55), and Maryland Champion Maria Coffin (3rd / 17:59). Connolly crossed the line in 18:01.
