Massachusetts Girls At New Balance Nationals

Emma Fitzgerald of Thayer Academy in Braintree is one of the best all around female Track Athletes in Massachusetts history. She won the Heptathlon this past weekend at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals. The Wisconsin bound senior accumulated 5464 points to win the event. She also went on to finish 4th place in the Championship Javelin with a throw of 148-01. She is now the Massachusetts leader in the High Jump 5'9, Javelin 148-1, 100MH 14.2, and heptathlon 5464.

Javelin- 142-07, 200M - 25.59, 800M- 2:28.19, 100H- 14.20, Shot Put- 34'0, Long Jump- 18-9, High Jump- 5'8.75

Another winner from Massachusetts was Grace Connolly of Natick. Connolly won the Freshman Mile in 5:02.

Other NBON Performances

• Brooke Lynn Williams ran a Massachusetts #1 time of 24.24 in the 200M. She was a victim of a false start that was never called backstart stumbled. She strolled in at 14.08. 
• Massachusetts State Champion Alyssa Zee of Ashland ran 24.66 to finish 37th place.
• Adja Sackor of Worcester Technical finished 5th place in the Triple Jump with a 40-1.25 jump.
• Massachusetts was well represented in the Javelin. Emma Fitzgerald led the charge with 148-01, Erin McMeniman of Dracut (123-07), Devan Walsh of Danvers (123-05), Julia Campezato of Dighton Rehoboth (123-05), Skylar Barthelmes of Dartnouth (115-09).
• Maegan Allen of Arlington finished fourth in the RaceWalk competition. Her time was 7:36.
• Mass State Champion of Peabody ran 1:05.42 in the Emerging Elite 400M Hurdles.
• Brianna Duncan fiished 29th in the Triple Jump at 36-11, and 12th place in the Long Jump at 18-10.75
• Mass State Pole Vault Champion Julia Valenti of North Reading finished 16th place with a vault of 11-10.75.
• Julia Jordahl-Henry of Wellesley finished 6th place in the High Jump with a leap of 5-7.
• Clare Martin of Newton South ran 2:09.29 in the 800M run.
