The "Duncan vs Williams" showdown was one of the best and most dramatic dashes ever. A battle that certainly lived up to the "Pre Race" hype. Both athletes cruised in the Preliminary rounds with almost identical times. In the finals it was Brooke Lynn-Williams edging Duncan at the tape with both girls breaking the All State Meet Record of 6.99. Williams was officially clocked in at 6.91, and Duncan was just under the All State Meet record of 6.98.
