Help Wanted: League Championship Coverage !

Milesplitmass would love to cover every single League Championship Meet, but that is an impossible task for a staff of only a few people. If any Parents, Athletes, or Coaches want to write an article or a recap of your League Championship, we will post it on milesplit. It can be as long and detailed as you like, as long as it covers the entire League. We have two guidelines that need to be followed.

1. We need quality photographs or videos to go along with your story or recap.

2. We need it within 24 hours of the completion of your meet.

We will make sure you get credit for your work. Hopefully we have many inspiring writers and this will help Milesplitmass cover as many meets a possible. Please contact us @ massrunners@gmail.com

  • Middlesex League Championships: Lexington, Hogan Roll !

Over 2.4 miles of golf course loops, Burlington's Paul Hogan ran away with a comfortable victory in the Middlesex league championship meet. Hogan led the race through a fast early pace, stringing out the chase pack and then dropping the field before the mile mark. In marked contrast to last year's competition, in which Hogan was edged for second after a duel with Lexington's Nat Adams, this year the Burlington senior was dominant, finishing in a time of 12:12, over 30 seconds faster than runner-up Matthew Dynan. Due to the fast initial pace and buffeting wind, the race was linear from the start. Second in after Hogan was Dynan, who surged powerfully in the second half of the race to beat out Christian Gentile and Aaron Lucci, in third and fourth respectively. Asked about the race, Hogan commented, "I went out a bit too fast but still felt great. The hills were tough but it will help me get ready for states." Certainly the state should watch out for this athlete in November.- October 30, 2013 - 1 Comments

  • Bay State Conference Championships: Needham, Newton North Best of the BSC !

There was something in the air at Coakley Middle School on Saturday. Maybe it was the moisture-free course that runs around the fields and woods of Norwood. Maybe it was the perfect temperatures in the low 50's. Maybe it was the pre-race meals everybody ate. Or maybe it's just that the Bay State Conference is becoming just that good.Mike Miller - October 27, 2013 - Comment
