Andover High School National Champions !

Andover swept away the competition in the Boys Championship Shuttle Hurdles this morning. The dynamic team of Sebastian Silveira, Sean Caveney, Justin Mantrana, and Andrew Matteucci was unstoppable, crossing the line in 29.51. Old Rochester came in 20th in 32.26.


Amherst All Americans !

The 4 X 400 team of Allen Vance, Joseph Tavares, Kelzy Rodrigues, and Taj-Amir Torres came out of the third heat to finish fifth overall at Nationals, also earning All-American status.

Dimare Solid All Weekend Long !

Notre Dame Academy's Isabella DiMare, the top 55m Hurdler in New England, came in 4th in the 60m EE Hurdles with a time of 8.89. The Holy Cross bound senior went undefeated in the 55m Hurdles indoors this season. Additionally, DiMare ran the EE 200m in 25.12, placing 6th and was the second leg in the NDA Girls EE Shuttle Hurdles team, which placed 13th and finished with a time of 35.05.

Ursuline Academy's Amy Piccolo, a standout middle distance runner, came in 7th in the EE 800m with a time of 2:15.45. Piccolo has proven herself in the 600m this season, winning D4 States, All States, MSTCA Elite Meet, and New Englands. Piccolo also anchored the Ursuline Academy Girls SMR team (4:16.75).


The Boys Championship DMR came down to a stellar anchor leg stacked with top milers and two milers. Logan Wetzel, of Saline, MI, who ran 4:08.75 to win the NBIGP Mile, lead Alex Ostberg, recent winner of the Two Mile at New Englands (9:00.58), Thomas Ratcliffe, the junior from Concord Carlisle, MA, who ran 4:10.45 at NBIGP, and Conor Lundy of Fordham Prep in the final 400m. Concord Carlisle finished in 3rd with a time of 10:07.26, while Mansfield finished in 6th with a time of 10:14.43.


Perhaps the place where MA athletes dominated the most was the Championship 4x800, where Amherst's Connor Evans, Robert Sailer, Allen Vance, and Kelzy Rodrigues ran a lighting fast 7:45.29, to place 3rd. Additionally, Allen Vance ran a 1:55.10 in the Championship 800. That performance established both a State and a New England record.


Lincoln-Sudbury never disappoints in the 4x800, running a speedy 9:07.09. Ariel Keklak, who anchored the 4x800 team, also ran the Championship 800 in 2:12.04.


Kaleigh Hughes and Olivia Lantz battle it out once again in the Championship Girls Mile, running 4:57.34 and 5:03.18, respectively.

Other Massachusetts Athletes

  • Brianna Duncan, Syndey Fisher, Esmeralda Asprilla, and Maya Halprin-Adams of Cambridge Rindge placed 11th in the SMR, running 4:08.33
  • Maria Garman of Scituate placed 12th in the Girls Heptathlon with 3234 points, while Emma Fitzgerald of Braintree placed 16th with 2892 points.
  • Qadir Barnard-Pratt of Westford placed 22nd in the Boys High Jump (5-11.50). Mitchell Norcross of Marblehead also jumped 5-11.50.
  • Norwood ran a speedy 3:41.72 in the SMR, while Bishop Feehan ran 3:45.41. They got 12th and 16th, respectively.
  • In the EE 4x800, Marblehead ran 8:13.77, while Peabody finished in 8:06.62, and Methuen, lead by John St.Hilaire, ran 8:05.78 to place 6th.
  • Andover's Boys 4x400 team ran 3:35.72.
  • Shrewsbury's Boys 4x200 team ran 1:32.87, while Norton, anchored by superstar sprinter Abu Ceesay, ran 1:32.03. Ceesay also ran the 200 in 22.58.
  • Kelzy Rodrigues also anchored Amherst's 4x200 team to a 1:32.23 finish.
  • Sean Caveney of Andover (8.12), Brian Donna of Boston (8.39), and Christian Cedullo of Peabody (8.67) all competed in the Boys EE 60m Hurdles.
  • Matt D'Anieri of Wellesley (1:58.55) and Everest Crawford of Gloucester (1:58.70) both competed in the Boys EE 800m.
  • Kevin Hack of Upton placed 13th in the Boys Championship High Jump, jumping 6-05.50. In the Girls Championship High Jump, Danae Bucci finishes 6th with a 5-06.5.
  • In the Girls EE 4x800, Tewksbury took 10th in 9:39.24, while Littleton took 13th in 9:44..38.
