BOYS VARSITY

Dartmouth’s Middle School was the location for this year’s Old Colony League meet.

Sunny and dry conditions at race time made a great back drop for this exciting nail biter. Junior Casey Connor of Barnstable ran to the front of the pack right from the gun. He ran a 5:10 first mile and quickly separated from the main pack running all alone out front. He never looked back and was never seriously challenged during the race.  Connor cruised to victory in a season best of 17:10.

Heading up the main pack  Dartmouth’s Bryce Boswell and Zack Lajuenesse, BR’s Trey Sheriden, and Barnstable’s Cam Donoghue kept spectators on their toes as the runners switched positions back and forth over the next two miles. It was Boswell,Lajuenesse, and Donaghue followed by Sheriden when the all of the dust settled.

Meanwhile Barnstable’s Cam Faszewski and Ray Todoroff battled with Dartmouth’s Gregory Martin and Advika Rajapakse for postions 6 and 7 over the 3.1 mile course. It was Martin and Rajapakse who pulled ahead with less than a half mile to go that sealed the victory for Dartmouth.

Despite a slower average time Dartmouth still managed to pull off a close  victory with a score of 31 to 33 over Barnstable with Bridgewater Raynham in third with 65 points.
