Winchester’s Bigelow stays on course in all-star college track career
A Winchester resident is set to begin the final season of his storied collegiate track career this weekend.
Stephen Bigelow, a senior out of Winchester will begin his final season for the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Minutemen track team this Saturday, April 5 at the Yellow Jacket Invitational at American International College in Springfield. Throughout his junior and senior years, Bigelow has become a highly decorated and versatile member of the Men’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field teams, according to head coach Ken O'Brien.
“He’s been a star for four years for us,” said O’Brien. “He’s one of those kids we spotted over the fence at states in high school, talked to him about coming here, and he’s been a big part of our program ever since.”
